The Third “Development Universities” was organised by the FGF (Fédération des Géomètres Francophones- Federation of the French Speaking Surveyors) and co-sponsored by FIG and UN-Habitat/GLTN. The theme of the Third “Development Universities” was “The Role of the Surveyor in Urban Space”.

3rd Development Universities

17-19 November 2014, Dakar, Senegal

The Third “Development Universities” organised by the FGF (Fédération des Géomètres Francophones- Federation of the French Speaking Surveyors) and co-sponsored by FIG and UN-Habitat/GLTN were held on 17-19 November 2014 in DAKAR ,Senegal.

This successful event hosted by the “The Ordre National des Géomètres-Experts du Sénégal” gathered about 160 participants from Sub-Saharan Africa countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Mali….and of course SENEGAL ). Morocco, France, Switzerland and Belgium… were also present.

The Meeting was under the High Patronage of the President of Senegal Mr Macky SALL and under the Effective Presidency of Mr Mahammed Boun Abdallah DIONNE Prime Minister of Senegal.

The theme of the Third “Development Universities” was “The Role of the Surveyor in Urban Space”

The Meeting was chaired by François MAZUYER, President of the FGF and by Mamadou NDIR, President of The “Ordre National des Géomètres du Sénégal (ONGES).

FIG was represented by Marc Vanderschueren of Belgium.
